Terms of Use for CalSweep

Effective date: 14 August 2026
Last updated: 14 August 2026

1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the CalSweep Android application, website, Premium features and related services.

CalSweep is provided by Mozzi Productions (“Mozzi Productions”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By installing, accessing, purchasing or using CalSweep, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use CalSweep.

3. Eligibility and authority

You must have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you cannot independently enter into a binding agreement, you may use CalSweep only with the permission and involvement of a parent or legal guardian.

You must be authorised to access and manage the device, calendar accounts, calendars, events, shared records and other information processed through CalSweep. Do not use CalSweep to alter another person’s calendar without authority.

4. Purpose of CalSweep

CalSweep provides tools for working with calendar records made available through Android’s Calendar Provider, including:

  • Listing calendars and their access classifications.
  • Running bounded event and occurrence scans.
  • Browsing, searching and filtering calendar events.
  • Identifying likely duplicate groups for review.
  • Classifying recurring-series, guest, shared and read-only risks.
  • Exporting selected events and backups to iCalendar (ICS) files.
  • Creating local Safety Vault snapshots before supported deletions.
  • Deleting explicitly selected, eligible event records.
  • Restoring supported ordinary event data as new provider records.

Features depend on your Android version, Calendar Provider implementation, calendar service, account access, permissions, synchronisation behavior and Premium entitlement.

5. Licence

Subject to these Terms, Mozzi Productions grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to install and use CalSweep on compatible Android devices that you own or control for lawful personal or internal business use.

You may not:

  • Copy or redistribute CalSweep except as permitted by Google Play.
  • Sell, sublicense, rent or lease the application.
  • Reverse-engineer or extract source code except where law expressly permits it.
  • Circumvent Premium restrictions or purchase verification.
  • Interfere with the application’s operation or security.
  • Access or alter another person’s calendar without authority.
  • Use CalSweep for unlawful surveillance, harassment, fraud or abuse.
6. Android permissions

Calendar browsing and analysis require Android’s read-calendar permission. User-confirmed deletion and supported restoration require write-calendar permission. CalSweep does not need to replace your normal calendar application.

If you refuse or remove a required permission, affected features will stop functioning or operate in a limited mode. You remain responsible for managing permissions through Android settings.

7. Scans, filters and displayed counts

CalSweep uses bounded date ranges to query event records and generated occurrences. Displayed totals depend on selected calendars, date boundaries, filters, access permissions and provider behavior. Counts may represent parent event records rather than every generated occurrence.

Event instances and parent events are different. A recurring parent event can generate many occurrences, including occurrences outside the visible scan window. Search results, duplicate groups and counts are informational tools that you must review before taking action.

8. Duplicate suggestions

Two calendar records with similar titles and times are not necessarily duplicates. Holidays, shared calendars, imported calendars, time zones and legitimate repeated events can produce similar records.

CalSweep may group likely duplicates or allow calendars such as public-holiday calendars to be hidden from the results. These tools do not decide which event is correct. You are responsible for reviewing the calendar, account, date, recurrence and access details before selecting a record for deletion.

9. Event deletion

Before confirming deletion, you must carefully review the selected event records, affected calendars and accounts, date range, access level, recurrence, attendees, warnings and available backup options.

When you confirm deletion:

  • CalSweep writes the operation through Android’s Calendar Provider.
  • The deletion may synchronise to a calendar service, other devices, shared-calendar members, organisers or attendees.
  • The original provider record and identifier may not be recoverable.
  • A Safety Vault snapshot is not a complete server backup and does not guarantee restoration.
  • You accept responsibility for the events and operation you selected.

Export important information and verify your selections before continuing. Never test destructive operations on a personal or business-critical calendar.

10. Recurring series

Recurring events require special care. Many displayed occurrences can reference one parent event. Deleting that parent may remove the entire recurring series, including occurrences outside the selected date range.

CalSweep displays recurring-series warnings and may block or require additional confirmation for risky operations. You must treat any recurring deletion as a series-level change unless the app and provider clearly prove otherwise.

11. Shared events, guests and read-only calendars

Changes to organised, shared or guest events may notify or affect other people and may be re-created, rejected or changed by the calendar service. Read-only records can be browsed but cannot be selected for changes through CalSweep.

Access classifications are based on information returned by Android’s Calendar Provider and can change. CalSweep may revalidate access immediately before an operation but cannot control a provider’s final decision.

12. Safety Vault and restoration

For supported deletions, CalSweep creates an app-private local snapshot before changing provider records. Completed snapshots may be retained for the period selected in the app and may be deleted manually or automatically.

Restoration creates new calendar-provider records. It does not undo the original deletion and cannot guarantee the original event identifier, server state, provider-only metadata, synchronisation state, invitations or every reminder.

CalSweep may disable restoration for recurring series, guest events, shared events, read-only calendars or other records that cannot be restored safely. Uninstalling CalSweep, clearing app data, losing the device or deleting a snapshot may permanently remove local recovery information.

13. Exports and sharing

ICS exports may contain titles, descriptions, locations, dates, account or calendar information and other personal or confidential data. You are responsible for having authority to export the information, selecting a secure destination, protecting the file, avoiding accidental disclosure and deleting copies when no longer required.

Mozzi Productions does not control information after it has been exported or transferred to another application, service, person or location.

14. CalSweep Premium

CalSweep may provide free functionality and optional Premium functionality. Premium is offered as a one-time, non-consumable purchase through Google Play.

  • Premium is not a subscription and does not automatically renew.
  • One completed purchase unlocks the entitlement associated with the purchasing Google account, subject to Google Play’s rules.
  • The exact local price and applicable taxes are displayed by Google Play before purchase.
  • Premium features may include event or backup export, deletion preparation and confirmation, Safety Vault restoration, snapshot deletion and other features identified in the app.

Free and Premium feature groupings may evolve in future versions, subject to applicable law and existing purchase rights.

15. Purchase processing

Google Play processes the Premium transaction. By purchasing Premium, you also agree to Google Play’s applicable terms, payment rules and refund policies. Mozzi Productions does not receive your complete payment-card or banking details.

A purchase may fail or be unavailable because of Google Play availability, account restrictions, payment failure, connectivity problems, unsupported devices, regional restrictions or Google Play service errors.

16. Restoring purchases

The “Restore purchase” function asks Google Play whether the active Google account owns the CalSweep Premium product.

Restoration generally requires the same Google account used for purchase, a supported Android device, Google Play services, internet connectivity, and continued product and app availability. Mozzi Productions cannot guarantee restoration where Google Play cannot verify ownership.

17. Refunds

Refund eligibility is governed by Google Play’s refund policies, applicable consumer-protection law, and any additional decision made by Mozzi Productions where permitted.

A refund may revoke Premium access. For assistance, contact support@calsweep.app and include the relevant Google Play order number. Do not send payment-card details.

18. Updates and changes

We may release updates to add or remove functionality, correct defects, improve safety and security, support Android or calendar-provider changes, comply with legal requirements, or change free and Premium feature groupings. Some updates may be necessary for continued use.

We will not convert the existing one-time Premium purchase into a recurring subscription without presenting a separate offer requiring your express agreement.

19. Availability and compatibility

We aim to keep CalSweep functional but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. Functionality may be affected by Android, Google Play, Calendar Provider or device-manufacturer changes, account restrictions, permissions, calendar services, synchronisation, technical faults or events beyond our reasonable control.

We may discontinue the app or particular features where reasonably necessary, subject to applicable law.

20. User responsibilities

You agree to use CalSweep lawfully; review every calendar, event and warning; maintain appropriate independent backups; protect your device, Google account and calendar accounts; respect privacy and shared access; obtain required consent; and comply with provider and Google Play rules.

21. Intellectual property

CalSweep, its software, branding, logo, design, written content and related intellectual property belong to Mozzi Productions or its licensors. No ownership rights are transferred to you.

“CalSweep”, associated branding and the Mozzi Productions name may not be used without prior written permission except where legally permitted.

22. Third-party services

CalSweep depends on or interacts with Android, Google Play, calendar and account providers, device manufacturers, file destinations and sharing applications.

Third-party services are governed by their own terms and policies. Mozzi Productions is not responsible for their independent operation, availability, retention, synchronisation, pricing, security or conduct.

23. Privacy

Our processing of personal information is described in the CalSweep Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

24. Disclaimers

CalSweep is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law.

We do not warrant that every calendar or event will be detected or displayed; duplicate suggestions will always be correct; counts or date boundaries will be exact; every selected record can be deleted; deletion will remove every external copy; a Safety Vault snapshot will restore every field; every provider will synchronise identically; or the app will always operate without interruption or error.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable law.

25. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mozzi Productions will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from accidental deletion; deletion of a recurring series; changes affecting attendees or shared calendars; failure to back up information; inaccurate duplicate selection; failed or incomplete restoration; provider synchronisation; loss of exports or snapshots; user-directed sharing; third-party services; or inadequate device or account security.

Where liability cannot legally be excluded, it will be limited only to the extent permitted by law. Nothing limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct or any liability that applicable law does not permit us to limit.

26. Suspension or termination

We may suspend related services or revoke a licence where reasonably necessary because of fraud, purchase reversal, circumvention of Premium access, unlawful use, material breach, security risks, or legal or Google Play requirements.

You may stop using CalSweep by uninstalling it. Uninstalling may remove local Safety Vault data but does not automatically reverse provider changes or delete exports stored elsewhere.

27. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Subject to applicable consumer-protection law, disputes fall within the jurisdiction of competent South African courts.

Nothing prevents either party from using an applicable consumer, regulatory, mediation or alternative dispute-resolution process.

28. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to functionality, purchase arrangements, law, Google Play requirements, calendar-provider behavior, safety, security or operational practices. Updated Terms will display a revised date. Where legally required, material changes will be brought to your attention and consent requested.

29. General provisions

If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A provision will be limited only as much as necessary to make it valid and enforceable.

These Terms, the Privacy Policy and any purchase terms displayed through Google Play form the agreement governing your use of CalSweep.
